In an exercise to rehire ourselves, we undertook to build our new website - Ourselves. After more hard work than we initially expected (As is to be expected), we are excited to announce the launch of our new Cartel House website. So for everything from coworking and physical training to eating and staying the night, head over to www.cartelhouse.com
The goal with the website was to:
1. Remind ourselves how it feels to be a startup or facelift your current corporate identity.
2. Provide a user-friendly and informative platform where new and current members can access information about the Cartel House membership.
3. Build on the platform to explain just how much a Cartel House membership incorporates. So much more than a desk.
How does it feel to be a startup or start at the beginning? (About the person who had to do the hard yards - Susan Signorile.)
"I started as an intern with graphic design experience. It wasn't long until I was requested to redesign the Cartel House website. Of course knowing that I have absolutely no experience in web design or even code, I said YES! After a mild panic, the first thing I did...I googled. And so began the journey to teach myself how to code and design a website. I always get so excited for new challenges and opportunities and before I knew it I was restructuring the Wordpress theme file to the way I want it. Those of you that know anything about code, know that this is no small feat, possibly even a no go zone.
How did I do it? Well, I have to give much of the credit to numerous videos on YouTube, Google and of course Pinterest. I wouldn't have been able to achieve or create this website without the help from Chris Edington from Made Agency (Code Guru), Schuyler Vorster (Stand in Manager/Copywriter), Nicolette Basson (Brand Custodian) and lastly Liesl Rademan from Catch a Tiger (Mentor). Thank you!"
We created The Cartel House website with the thought of putting ourselves back in a startup's position. Service is key, therefore engaging with our members and understanding what works and doesn't is where we fall in - also known as concierge. Upcoming events, boardroom bookings, immediate call-to-action buttons for sign up applications or booking a tour is all available on the site.
We have felt the pain, but in order for us to hit our aforementioned goals, we need a favour from you – Send us your thoughts, the good, the bad, the ugly, as we want to know. www.cartelhouse.com
We started with a desk, added a couple of boardrooms, coffee machine and soon curated a membership where not only do you have a workspace, but access to many facilities and perks: rooftop clubhouse, coffee bar, access to restaurants and a tailor. We are candid about our growth being continuous and that each day is a Work In Progress; as such stay tuned for The Cartel House Hotel, gym and even a rooftop pool.
"I can do anything I set my mind to. You are what you create, therefore ask yourself if what you are doing today is getting you closer to where you want to be tomorrow. Basically, in 2 words, Hire Yourself!"
Talking about hiring yourself to get something done… I interviewed myself to deliver this article to you.
